I was awoken about three weeks ago, very oddly and could not get Dan out of my mind, here follows the result of that morning, some might say nice, I say divine intervention

Dan, the years are passing quickly now
The pain that’s there it shows
It’s etched upon your Granddad’s face
I watch it as it grows

They say ‘times a healer’
Oh how wrong that is so
It never goes away you see
It’s always there. I know

I never met you Dan my friend
But with me people shared
What a wonderful person you were Dan
And of how much you cared

If heaven had that stairwell Dan
I’d walk it every day
And share with you the stories I’ve heard
Of who you were…..

My way

One of life’s true Heroes
One of those who tried
One of those Braveheart’s Dan
One of those who died
